About this policy

Druid USB Camera is a USB camera viewer and recorder for Android, published under the DruidApps application brand. This policy describes the information the app accesses and uses. Camera images, recordings and microphone sound can contain personal information even when they stay on your device.

Camera and optional microphone access

The app uses Android camera permission and your approval for a connected USB device to display its live image and capture photos or video. It does not use your phone camera as a substitute USB camera. Optional audio recording uses the supported USB microphone or device microphone you explicitly select, after Android microphone permission is granted. Audio Off records video without microphone sound. Live capture operates while the app has the required foreground access; background recording is not provided.

On-device processing and information stored

Video frames, photos, audio encoding and playback are processed locally on your Android device. Saved photos normally go to Pictures/Druid USB Camera and saved videos to Movies/Druid USB Camera. Android MediaStore manages published media; older supported Android versions also use their legacy shared-storage mechanisms.

The app stores a private catalog of its own captures, including file names, content references, capture times, dimensions, sizes and video durations. It also keeps local preferences and connection-permission choices. USB manufacturer and product names, vendor/product IDs, Android attachment identifiers and audio-device information are used locally to find and operate the device you connect. This is operational hardware information, not an advertising profile. Preview and thumbnail data may be held temporarily in memory for display.

Internet, services and third-party libraries

The current release configuration does not request Android Internet permission and the app does not send media, identifiers or usage information to a DruidApps server. There is no app account, cloud backup, advertising, analytics, tracking SDK or automatic developer crash-reporting service in the audited release dependencies. Android UI libraries and native USB/video/image libraries support on-device operation; they do not provide an app-operated remote data service.

Android, Google Play, the device manufacturer and separately installed backup or media applications may process information under their own settings and policies. The app disables Android automatic app-data backup; that does not disable separate backup tools for photos and videos in shared storage. Development diagnostics are not automatically uploaded by the production app.

Gallery and sharing

Gallery uses the app's saved-media catalog so you can view photos, play recordings, inspect file information and choose files to share or delete. The app does not import your entire personal media library into its catalog.

When you choose Share, Android displays its share chooser. The app you select receives read access to the files you chose and may send or store them according to its own policies and your actions. Druid USB Camera does not automatically select a recipient or upload files. A file can leave your device when you deliberately share it to a service that uploads it.

Retention, deletion and your choices

Saved photos and videos remain until you delete them. You can delete app-owned captures through Gallery or manage them using Android media tools. Unfinished or failed capture files may be removed during the app's save-recovery cleanup. Deleting an original does not delete copies already shared or backed up elsewhere.

Private settings and catalog information remain until you clear the app's data or uninstall it, subject to Android behavior. Clearing app data or uninstalling does not reliably remove saved photos and videos from shared storage and can remove the app's catalog references; use Android media tools to manage remaining files. You can revoke camera or microphone permissions in Android Settings. There is no app account to delete and no DruidApps cloud media store from which to request deletion.

Security

The app uses Android camera, microphone and USB authorization and scoped media access where available. Android 9 and earlier use the app's declared legacy storage permissions for saving and managing captures. Recordings are not encrypted by a separate app-level encryption system. Protect device access and review the permissions and services you use to share or back up media. These measures do not guarantee that software or stored files are free from security risks.

Contact, website and policy changes

For privacy or support questions, contact support@druidapps.com. If you independently send an email, DruidApps and the email service receive the address, message and attachments you choose to send so the enquiry can be answered. Do not include sensitive recordings unless necessary. You can use the same contact to ask about deletion of support correspondence.

This app policy does not replace the DruidApps website privacy notice or the policies of sharing recipients. Website hosting may process ordinary request information when you visit the site. We will update this policy when the app's information practices change and identify the applicable effective date.
